I am a Library Media Specialist in a gr.3-5 Intermediate School who, thanks to the Internet@Schools east conference this past week, has been enlightened about Web2.0. Since this is all so new to me, I am slightly overwhelmed but excited about it all. Right now, I am more of an observer than an active participant because, quite honestly, I have to become familiar with so much (I have info-overload right now!) Thank you for welcoming me into the network.

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit.

I have wondered the same thing. I am in the rotation for specials and therefore have such a short time, in fact, no other time to devote to other more fun activities. If you get some great tips, I'd like to hear them.
