Name of Your School / Library / Organization:

After learning with and from 6th graders for 20 years, I've taught for the past ten years (and learned even more from upcoming teachers and graduates) at Indiana University Southeast. I was honored to receive the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship for an adventure I wrote for students all across Indiana and beyond, and I now share the poetry of my book, The 8 O'Clock Bell, (along with its accompanying music) in schools and for conferences throughout the nation. It's all about everything that has happened to all of us in school - from its humor to its most poignant moments - and I can simply guarantee a visit will result in the best author/musician experience your students and colleagues have ever experienced ...or send me home checkless. 100% of the proceeds from my music go to The Harvard University Stem Cell Institute to put an end to Muscular Dystrophy, and you can read about Harvard's support of this poetic and musical endeavor in its newsletter below. On another note, one of the songs from my album, "Neil Brewer and Friends are Back in School", went to #1 on Sirius XM Radio, and has now been made into a 3-D cartoon by the tremendously talented animators at Nightmill Studios in Denver. Enjoy it here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbV2OCr5itI&feature=share Please see the reviews from educators and many more, and you can download music and The 8 O'Clock Bell for Kindle, iPad, Nook and Sony eReaders. Thank you, and I look forward to performing for your kids and colleagues! Neil 502-931-3872 nhbrewer@ius.edu

  • Hi Neil,

    Where do you work, what grades?

  • Neil, thank you!  Do your travels bring you to the Atlanta area?  My students would gain so much by meeting you.  Thank you for your work in behalf of Muscular Dystrophy.

  • I taught 6th grade for 20 years - now I teach upcoming teachers at Indiana University Southeast. I also perform my poetry and music throughout the nation - from which all proceeds go to Harvard University Research to put an end to Muscular Dystrophy.  Check me out at www.neilbrewer.com

  • OK, Looked up and saw your photos, you must teach fine arts...your photos are magnificent! What great ideas you have!

  • Hi;

    I'm new to this organization, new to the library field, new to working full-time...new to everything! Looks like my high school is going to try to jump into iPads next year...that is why I joined this ning - you are my first friend. Nice to meet you, what do you do?

  • Thanks for asking me to be your friend. Your photos are inspiring. I love the older photos. History is my thing and I find the photos so cool. Thanks.

  • Where are you at and how are you invovled in librarianship?  Thanks.

  • I love your work Neil. You are making a difference in ways you are probably not even aware of.  :-)

  • hey Neil,

    I hope I can get some good ideas from you for my book club this year.  If I have any, I'll let you know.
