I'm from lots of different places, being from a military family and then marrying a military man, but I was born in California and seemed to keep going back there. I currently live near Tampa, Florida, where I've been for 14 years now.
Name of Your School / Library / Organization:
I am new to the media specialist profession and am teaching at a small private school offering intensive golf and tennis programs. Many students come from foreign countries, and they range from grades 3-12. This makes for a challenging situation, especially since funds are very limited for me. I am looking forward to hearing of others' experiences and getting wise advice from those more experienced than I in the ways of library media centers. It's nice to meet you all.

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.
