I am married to a science teacher and have loved learning more about science these passed several years. I have two daughters, one a senior in the fall and the other a sophomore in the fall. We love traveling as a family and simply being together. We live in the middle of town on 8 acres and enjoy having a barn on our property to make us feel as if we are in the country--we do have 9 chickens. We also have an incredible of Red Rocks Amphitheater. Although we would rather be living overseas where the girls were born, we consider ourselves lucky to be in such a private, gorgeous spot. I have been working in a library this passed year and love most of it. Quite a lovely change as i used to teach high school English. I am looking forward to learning more and more technology and am glad that at my older age, I have teens who know a lot of technology.

    Greetings Becky,

    I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.
