Name of Your School / Library / Organization:
I have been a library teacher/Info Tech Specialist in Watertown since 1990. I am currently at the Middle School and have been here for 11 years. I also serve as the team leader for our department as we have no official director. When not in school, I play in a band called City of Roses. We are an acoustic trio based out of Boston. You can learn about us and hear our music on our website: One of the other membes of the group is also a middle school librarian. When not in the library or playing music, I enjoy flyfishing, golf, and cycling.

I just signed on to this site yesterday. I am excited about having the

opportunity to "play in the sandbox" with all of you. I have

been a teacher librarian in Watertown, Massachusetts for about 17

Chris Harris speak at the MSLA conference in Sturbridge, MA last fall I

Greetings Linda,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit.

We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight. If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!
