I am a post-graduate student on the master of education (teacher librarianship) course at CSU in Australia. I am currently on the first module of this course, and cannot believe how many wonderful websites, videos and articles I have encountered in just a matter of weeks. I've also set up my first ever blog and am now working on a wikispace. I have 7 modules left after this one - who knows what new skills I will have learned and how my knowledge will have grown by the end of this course!

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.
