  • Hi Ellen.  I did check into that copyright rule, and the rule says that teachers and students who are creating multimedia projects can use up to 10% of a video or three minutes, whichever is less, and up to five photos from one photographer.  10% of the photos from a collection of photos (a collection is a named collection by one photographer or a group of photographers, not an entire website full of photos) or 15 photographs, whichever is less.  I found this information in the summary-of-multimedia-fair-use-guidelines section on a resource called "Copyright Law in the Electronic Environment" found at the following link:  http://www.utsystem.edu/OGC/IntellectualProperty/faculty.htm#mm.
