I have four children ranging in age from twenty to seven. My husband is a math teacher/coach. I have been employed by the Harlingen school district for over 20 years. I am currently a teacher of the gifted for first through fifth grade being serviced in a pull out program. I am currently working on my masters degree in library science.

    Greetings Dawn,

    I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.     I will be there on Saturday taking it also. I'm driving up Friday with my mom and daughter and making a weekend of it (to visit my sister who lives there). I don't if I will take it April or June, but I do know I don't want to have to drive to Huntsville to do the review/test!
