From my window, I can see Pensacola Bay and the Fish House restaurant (please try the Creole French toast if you are ever there). My walk to work everyday is about three blocks. I work at a think tank called the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition. Research there includes robotics, artificial intelligence, concept mapping, and knowledge elicitation, among many other things. I graduated in May with a B.S. in Human Computer Interaction and a B.A. in Psychology (with a certification in Human Resource Management that my advisor threw in the mix because I had already met the requirements… it happens when you take too many classes). I am currently a graduate student pursuing my Master of Library and Information Science degree (School Media track) at Florida State University's College of Information. I love traveling, watching cartoons in my pajamas, and keeping up with social media websites.

Greetings Brooke,
I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight. If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Mike McQueen
