Strategic Planning and the Teacher Librarian

I would like to start a discussion around the ways you approach the need to develop a plan for your Library. I have been asked to update my book http://books.google.com/books?id=xlIo0A8YpBMC&dq=john+crowley+developing+a+vision&pg=PP1&ots=dXg8mz7qr4&source=bn&sig=vHZX2Zpyn8QJJ4h0JZWhcLsYN64&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=4&ct=result and would like to write a book that would offer suggestions for in-depth and "dirty and cheap" planning for your library. I would be willing to share my experience with four different iterations of strategic planning. More important, I would like to see what others do to prepare their libraries to thrive in these turbulent times.
