I'm new at this and want to incorporate some fun poetry activities, displays, etc. for National Poetry Month in April. What have you done in the past or plan to do next month?
Thanks!
Sue

One thing we have done that is easy and fun is this: I went on our morning news show in late March and told the students that if they could memorize a poem, we would have one or two students recite their poem on the news show each morning through April. I then recited "There Once was a Puffin" that I had inadvertantly memorized when reading a book of poetry over and over to my daughter when she was young. If we had had an overwhelming response, I guess we would have either added more recitations as time allowed or perhaps made podcasts and posted them...
