I think it would be fun to either give away or raise money using peeps as the prize. any suggestions would be helpful. Either as a reading or library incentive, or fundraiser of some kind to pair it with our library textbook scholarship.

I see from your personal page that you are in Loudoun County, VA--I am in adjoining Fairfax County, so you must know about the Washington Post's peeps contest? Here is the link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/gallery/2008/03/21/GA2... There are examples of past and present entries and winners. But for the library, couldn't you have a book themed contest? A diorama of your favorite book?
We had Lisa Yee (Millicent Min and Stanford Wong, etc.) come to speak to our 5th and 6th graders last year and she loves Peeps--taught the students how to explode them in the microwave. She has a stuffed animal version of Peeps that she includes in all her pictures (see her blog)--so you could also do a sort of Flat Stanley kind of contest too.
The possibilities seem to be only limited by one's imagination--with peeps for prizes, of course!
