  • I spent a couple of days this summer making myself a pacing guide for each grade level, grading period, and subject area so that whatever library skills I am working on I will correlate with a book, video or Promethean lesson that teaches a library skill while reinforcing the subject and grade level skills that the teachers were using. Do you have set skills that you are given to teach at each level or is it up to you to choose what you teach at each grade level? I try to mirror the English Standards of Learning for Va. at each grade level and add thing as I see a need.
    • I'll probably mirror the English Standards as well.  I'm waiting to meet with teachers to find out when they teach what skills.
      • Our school has a printed copy of the pacing guide. If your school does, then you wont have to wait for the teachers. You can at least have a general idea of where you are going so that you can begin to find resources and then of course collaborate with the teachers to define and refine. Good luck.
