Washington State will be working towards defining and codifying joint information literacy and ed tech standards. From the WLMA listserv:
  • Kristine McLane (TL in Bellevue S.D.) is currently serving on the OSPI Assessment Development Group
  • Linda King, WLMA President, Kristine and I will be meeting with Dennis Small and Tara Richerson of OSPI Education Technology in late July for the specific purpose of
defining and codifying joint Info Lit and Ed Technology standards at the
state level.  Mike Eisenberg and Colet Bartow of Montana OPI will be
contributing as well.  After our initial meeting, a draft document
will be shared for the purposes of soliciting feedback.  As a rule,
we will be relying on work/standards that have already been developed but
have yet to be "officially" recognized at OSPI.

My goal is to be well along in the "draft" stage by conference so we can present and provide an opportunity for dialogue while we're all in the same building, then wrap up the work and deliver by
Christmas.

If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas regarding this process, please feel free to email me at stephenjcoker@gmail.com.  I'm aware that the timeline is relatively short, but this process needs to move
forward quickly.
