Lots of folks have been asking what they should DO on September 28th to celebrate AASL's Banned Websites Awareness Day, so we are compiling a list of suggested activities into an editable document. The document is embedded in the http://bannedsites.info website.

I have a confession to make. Until yesterday, I wasn't really sure what we were going to do at NCHS, which is a free-range media school! Then I ran it by our new (awesome) principal, Dr. Bryan Luizzi. He suggested that we BLOCK all the main sites that are blocked in other schools - Brilliant! So that's what we are going to do. We are going to turn on maximum filtering from 7:30 AM until 2:05 PM on 9/28, and encourage students to interview teachers and students about how it impacts teaching and learning, then (after 2:05), have them upload all the video to Facebook.
