I am a new LMS in a K-5 elementary school. I am looking for ways to assess student learning in the media center. I want to document that my program is deepening student's learning. I would love to hear what others are doing to document this in their media center.
You need to be a member of TLNing (teacherlibrarian.org) to add comments!
The best book to read is Violet Harada and Joan Yoshina's Assessing Learning: Librarians and Teachers as Partners. It is very readable and you should find several easy ways to get started with assessment in your library program.
I am attaching a handout that I and two other librarians used at AASL in Reno last year for our breakout session's activity, (that explains the way it is set up), but it has the definition and one example of several ways we can assess in our library programs. The examples are K-12 because we were each from a different level--I was the elementary person.

Hope this helps,
