Mini-Lessons

Hey! It's almost time for the school year to start, and this is my first year as librarian at the 5th-8th grade middle school. I'm excited but nervous at the same time... Every teacher is required to start their classes (each class period is 45 minutes long) with "bell ringers" or mini-lessons while the teacher takes roll, etc. What/where can I get ideas for 5th & 6th grade library skills? Thanks!
